Meet Gemma

Gemma Liverio is an Administrative Coordinator at McChrystal Group. She assists with event planning and coordination and with any administrative tasks around the office. She is also part of Stan McChrystal's Thought Leadership Team, where she works closely with Stan and her teammates on coordinating AV needs and logistics for local speech opportunities.

What did you do before joining McChrystal Group?

Before joining McChrystal Group, I worked as a Permanent Supportive Housing Case Manager, where I assisted individuals experiencing homelessness at a mental and behavioral health non-profit organization called Community Connections, which is located in Washington, DC. At Community Connections, my job was to help clients find and maintain housing. In January of 2021, I moved from my hometown of Amsterdam, NY, to Manassas, VA, to attend graduate school. In May of 2022, I graduated from George Mason University with a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration in Human Rights and Social Justice. After graduation, I moved from Manassas, VA, to Alexandria, VA, which I now call home.

Why did you join McChrystal Group?

I needed a change in my life, and I was interested in exploring and learning about other opportunities.

What has been your proudest moment at McChrystal Group?

I'm a timid, introverted person. My proudest moment at McChrystal Group thus far has been coming out of my shell to connect with my colleagues and establish good working relationships.

What is a hidden talent of yours?

I sing and have been a member of several choirs. I used to play the clarinet and was a member of the Syracuse University Marching Band.
